What does it cost to raise a newborn for a year?

Im doing a project for my parent and child class about how much it costs to raise a child for a year. Ive tried many sites but all of them are rather un-useful. So im wondering if there are any new mothers out there would could be of assistance to me. I need to know estimated price of the following items:

-Baby Food
-Botttles
-Formula (i know that babys are typically breats feed for the first 6 months, so does it mean this is free? for the first 6 mos?)
-Infant Cereal
-disposeable diapers
-baby wipes
- diaper rash cream
- waterproof matress cover
-shoes
-1 hat & a pair mittens
- 6 outlits
- 4 pairs of socks
-1 jacket
- 6 undershirts
- 3 bibs
-swing
-bassinet/playpen
-Crib and matress pad
-Car seat
Baby bathtub
-stroller
-toys
-sheets/blankets
-baby vitimins
-health insurance
- over the counter medications
thanks alot of any help!

For me:
-I never bought baby food: I steamed/mashed/chopped my own veggies and fruits (whole produce = dirt cheap!)
-Never used bottles
-Never used formula
-Only bought the rice cereal once, ick, what a waste!
-I currently use disposables (diapers at Costco are $28 for about 215), but am switching to cloth, which saves hundreds and hundreds of dollars per child; thousands if you reuse them with future kids!
-I bought many onesies/sleepers/baby blankets at garage sales; some of them were 10 cents apiece! Maybe since she was born I've spent $125 on storebought clothes. We have received many items of clothing as presents, as well as some hand me downs.
-We got a cheap baby bathtub, but only used it three times. When the umbilical cord fell off, we simply took our daughter in the shower with us! Still doing it.
-Got a swing at a garage sale for $5. She hated it anyway, so not a huge waste of cash.
-baby vitamins are not necessary except for a few cases, like anemia
-shoes aren't necessary until your baby is actually walking, and even then, only truly needed outside. Never bought any until my daughter was a year.
-stroller (holds up to 50 lbs)- $150
-crib (converts to toddler bed and full bed)- $200

Yeah!!! It is time to purchase your toddlers Summer clothing. I love the hot sunny weather. It is time to play outside and sit on your patio. Don't forget about splashing around in the pool and buying ice cream from the ice cream truck! It is now time to put away the jeans and sneakers and bring out the shorts and sandals. I love Summer and so does my toddler.

Here are a few of the "must haves" for your little boys closet this Summer. These are the items that I use for my sons Summer wardrobe every year.

Summer Shoes

These of course, are a given. Summer time you have to have sandals. I usually purchase my son a few pairs of each. Sometimes you can pick these up so cheaply you may as well have a few pairs on hand.

Sandals

My son is 3 so I prefer the sandals that have velcro. I usually try and find the ones that Velcro behind the ankle. These are not as quick to get off. I have used the sandals that Velcro across the foot and he is quick to take them off and run in his bare feet. (Not a good idea when you are in the grocery store.)

I also try to buy a variety of colors. You can purchase some nice brown leather ones to wear to church or for good clothes. Buy some "sporty" ones too. That way you will cover all bases to match with all of his outfits. No Summer toddler boys clothing wardrobe is complete without sandals.

Flip Flops

Now a 3 year old cannot wear the flip flops that you or I wear. However they can wear the flops that hook around the ankles so they do not flip off. These are Great! These are nice for play and at the beach!! So you can stock up for the whole summer. Especially if you catch them on sale. Stock Up. You will be surprised how many pairs your little ones can go through during the summer. Now that we have covered the summer shoes let's move on to the summer clothes!!

Swimming Trunks

A Must Have!! Every summer toddler boys clothing wardrobe has to have swim trunks. I have about 5 pairs on hand during the summer. If you have a small pool in the backyard then it is good to have back-up swimming trunks. Hint Allow your toddler help pick out a few pairs of their own. You know how much they will like wearing trunks that they picked out themselves. They feel so proud!

Tank Tops

You have to keep tons of these on hand. Especially on the really hot days!! My son wears tank tops everyday in July and August. You can buy matching shorts and tank sets and your summer toddler boys clothing closet is ready to go! Tanks are really great and inexpensive. So buy lots and lots of them.

T-shirts

This of course is the easy part of your toddler boys clothing for summer. You just get shirts that match with the shorts, polos, button downs, t-shirts. The ideas are endless. Remember to keep in mind and buy shirts that will match with multiple shorts.

Shorts

What would your toddlers summer clothing wardrobe be without shorts. Shorts are a necessity for any toddlers wardrobe. Here are just a few shorts I like to include in my sons wardrobe.

Denim Shorts

I like to keep several denim shorts in my toddlers summer clothes wardrobe. These are great to put on with a tank top to run to the store or even to go out to dinner. You can dress denim shorts up or down. That is what is great about denim shorts.

Cargo Shorts

These are great to wear to church or even just to run around in. Again, purchase different colors. Khaki, blue and even camouflage!!

Just remember to keep in mind that you want your little guy to be stylish and cool at the same time. That is the key we want our little kids to be comfortable in the hot weather. It is possible to dress sharp and stay KEWL!

Electric bikes are constantly growing in India these days. Entrepreneurs are optimistic in this business, despite the low sales trends. In India, there are more than 40 e-bike companies manufacturing electric bikes. Almost all companies importing electric bike parts in completely knocked down (CKD) kits from countries like China, Taiwan and assembling in India and selling in India.

Being keen about product quality & market capture, Indian companies are currently concentrating on

1. The dispatch of quality CKD kits at vendor end to reduce the inline quality issues.

2. Investing in R&D and indigenizing the e-bike components and developing them in India. This helps the manufacturers have a better control over quality. Some companies developing e-bike dealers & service equipment manufactures.

3. Good after sales service. The whole e-bike technology is new, the more the company cares its costumers more goodwill it gains.

E-bike business in a nascent stage, there are many business opportunities are seen for coming years. Taking E-bike manufacturing into consideration, there are companies like Hero electric, Ampere Vehicles pvt ltd, Ultra Motors ltd, Lectrix Motors Ltd, TI and many more establishing themselves into this business. Hence, no company yet captured this business. This simply means that still there is a scope for a newbie to come and stand in the business of manufacturing electric bikes.

During my work experience of 4 years in this electric bike R&D; my team was tired of looking for vendors who can make a single e-bike part in India. As these parts are imported from outside, they are of non-standard for Indian vendors. This discouraged the vendors to work in developing them as they are pessimistic about E-bike business as a whole. This forces the OEM to import which increases the cost of the e-bike. Increase in cost reduces the motivation in costumer to buy. Hence it requires the initiation to build this business and everybody should be part of it.

With this introduction of importance of the indigenization, we will discuss the various business opportunities associated with e-bikes.

Various parts of electric bikes & related business, can be classified as follows

1. Sheet Metal & Tubular parts - Chassis, Front fork, Handle bar, Swing arm, Centre stand, side stand.

2. Plastic & PP parts - Front mould, Side covers, Handle cover, Seat, Side lower covers, etc.

3. Drive train parts - Electric Motor, Power Electronic controller, Batteries, Charger, DC-DC Converter.

4. Electric & lighting accessories - Head lamps, Indicator lamps, Buzzer, Horn, Wire-harness , Connecting sockets, etc.

5. Miscellaneous parts - brake levers, Electronic accelerator (Throttle), Switches, Speedometer, etc.

6. Dealer and service equipments - Hydraulic tools, jigs, ramps, dealer test equipments for electrical components, etc.

The above list goes on and on. The objective in classifying & listing the parts is to show that a business opportunity lies in making each of the above parts. Almost 60% of the above parts are same as that of convectional automobile parts but with some dimensional change. It is true that a lot of R&D is required to develop a good quality and suitable product but it starts with the initiation from every entrepreneur.

Indian Entrepreneurs should take the challenge of developing and mass produce the electric bike components which reduce the production cost of the bike and ultimately the cost to the costumer. This will lead to more sales of electric bikes & vehicles. This will increase the share of e-bikes on road to the convectional vehicles. This reduces the tail pipe emissions and noise pollution leading to pollution-free Earth.
