For the most part, your odds of conceiving a boy are roughly the same as those for conceiving a girl (with boys accounting for 51% of births and girls making up 49%.) This is said to be true if you just let nature take its course and don't do anything special in terms of when and how you conceive. With that said though, I believe that there are definitely things that you can do to influence these odds and even increase them. So, the following article will focus on ways to help you increase the odds of having a boy baby (since I receive more correspondence about this than having girls, for whatever reason.)

Get As Close As Possible To Your Ideal Weight, Don't Diet, And Embrace Breakfast: There is a relatively recent study which seems to indicate that women who conceive boys were more likely to consume more calories and to take in more carbs and fat (especially through breakfast foods.) Now, the statistics in this study are not overwhelming, but this is an easy thing to incorporate into your day and it's pretty well accepted that fertility can be affected by dieting and by being significantly under your ideal weight. It makes sense then to accept that now is not the time to diet and that you shouldn't be skipping breakfast.

Think In Terms Of Having Intercourse After You Have Ovulated: It's very common to become anxious as your ovulation period nears because most of us realize that we really only have a small window of time to become pregnant each month. So, it's quite understandable that as soon as we think that ovulation is on its way, we think that we should start having intercourse right away so that we don't waste any precious time or opportunities. This is fine if you don't mind the possibility of having a girl baby. But, if you have your heart set on a son, then you will want to fore go the days that are in the early part of the window.

There is a scientific reason for this. We know that the Y sperm chromosomes that are needed for sons can only live for a few days at the most. So, if you were to have intercourse before ovulation, then you're basically setting it up so that you're introducing weak, dying or already exited sperm to the fresh egg. This is not an ideal scenario. But, if you could wait a couple of days, then you would be setting it up so that the fresh sperm and the fresh egg arrive at the same time.

If there is any chance that you aren't entirely sure when your ovulation happens, then you should get a really good ovulation predictor. (Either saliva or urine are best.) And, you really do need to test regularly. Also, you usually should begin testing earlier than you may think. It's not a bad idea to begin testing a week after your menstrual period ends and to just continue testing until you get a definite positive.

Use Specific Sexual Positions Rather Than Just Letting Things Happen Naturally: I realize that this might not seem like spontaneous fun. But, at least in terms of conception, this is necessary. You only have to be careful about this on the days where you are trying to become pregnant. But, specifically on those days, you want to concentrate on the positions that are going to offer deep penetration. I've alluded to the fact that the Y's are not healthy for as long as the sperm that will give you a girl. So, it makes sense to give them the shortest trek from point A to point B that you can manage. Deep penetration accomplishes this. So, which sexual positions fit the bill? For many couples, this is rear entry or anything that allows you to elevate your hips (using a pillow can help with this.) However, the height and weight of both people can alter this, so use whatever works best for you.

Understand How Acidity Affects The Sperm That Makes Conception Possible: By now hopefully you can picture the short lived struggling male producing sperm (which unfortunately really is a little bit weaker than those that give you daughters.) This is happening from the second that the sperm is released as the clock begins ticking on the lifespan and the strength of these little guys. And, as the sperm makes it way to the egg, it faces one more obstacle and that is the environment in which all of this is happening. A woman's reproductive tract can either be acidic or alkaline. The alkaline environment is going to be better for your goal of having a boy because it is less destructive to these vulnerable sperm. However, an acidic tract is what you do not want because this is just one more obstacle that needs to be overcome and this would favor getting a girl baby.

Fortunately, you do have some control over whether you are acidic or alkaline. You can start by testing yourself with strips that are sometimes sold for diabetics. If you find that you aren't alkaline, you can usually alter this by very targeted douching and / or by changing your diet to exclude the foods that are most acidic.

Finally, there is some evidence that more boys are conceived in the winter months. This is thought to help protect the vulnerable boy babys by ensuring that more in born in warmer months. However, the data on this is not that impressive and plenty of boys are conceived throughout the year.

So I have to refridgerate all of our baby food even before it is opened. My baby loves all her food ice cold and really fusses if I heat it up. Is your baby like this, will she eat warm food when she is older?

My son started taking warm food when he started finger eating big people food, I started it at room tempurature then would give it to him a bit warmer to the point where he could eat with everyone else. It just takes time and a little patience, but she will grow out of it!
