Electric bikes are constantly growing in India these days. Entrepreneurs are optimistic in this business, despite the low sales trends. In India, there are more than 40 e-bike companies manufacturing electric bikes. Almost all companies importing electric bike parts in completely knocked down (CKD) kits from countries like China, Taiwan and assembling in India and selling in India.

Being keen about product quality & market capture, Indian companies are currently concentrating on

1. The dispatch of quality CKD kits at vendor end to reduce the inline quality issues.

2. Investing in R&D and indigenizing the e-bike components and developing them in India. This helps the manufacturers have a better control over quality. Some companies developing e-bike dealers & service equipment manufactures.

3. Good after sales service. The whole e-bike technology is new, the more the company cares its costumers more goodwill it gains.

E-bike business in a nascent stage, there are many business opportunities are seen for coming years. Taking E-bike manufacturing into consideration, there are companies like Hero electric, Ampere Vehicles pvt ltd, Ultra Motors ltd, Lectrix Motors Ltd, TI and many more establishing themselves into this business. Hence, no company yet captured this business. This simply means that still there is a scope for a newbie to come and stand in the business of manufacturing electric bikes.

During my work experience of 4 years in this electric bike R&D; my team was tired of looking for vendors who can make a single e-bike part in India. As these parts are imported from outside, they are of non-standard for Indian vendors. This discouraged the vendors to work in developing them as they are pessimistic about E-bike business as a whole. This forces the OEM to import which increases the cost of the e-bike. Increase in cost reduces the motivation in costumer to buy. Hence it requires the initiation to build this business and everybody should be part of it.

With this introduction of importance of the indigenization, we will discuss the various business opportunities associated with e-bikes.

Various parts of electric bikes & related business, can be classified as follows

1. Sheet Metal & Tubular parts - Chassis, Front fork, Handle bar, Swing arm, Centre stand, side stand.

2. Plastic & PP parts - Front mould, Side covers, Handle cover, Seat, Side lower covers, etc.

3. Drive train parts - Electric Motor, Power Electronic controller, Batteries, Charger, DC-DC Converter.

4. Electric & lighting accessories - Head lamps, Indicator lamps, Buzzer, Horn, Wire-harness , Connecting sockets, etc.

5. Miscellaneous parts - brake levers, Electronic accelerator (Throttle), Switches, Speedometer, etc.

6. Dealer and service equipments - Hydraulic tools, jigs, ramps, dealer test equipments for electrical components, etc.

The above list goes on and on. The objective in classifying & listing the parts is to show that a business opportunity lies in making each of the above parts. Almost 60% of the above parts are same as that of convectional automobile parts but with some dimensional change. It is true that a lot of R&D is required to develop a good quality and suitable product but it starts with the initiation from every entrepreneur.

Indian Entrepreneurs should take the challenge of developing and mass produce the electric bike components which reduce the production cost of the bike and ultimately the cost to the costumer. This will lead to more sales of electric bikes & vehicles. This will increase the share of e-bikes on road to the convectional vehicles. This reduces the tail pipe emissions and noise pollution leading to pollution-free Earth.

The Replacement Cushion - Tufted Cushions, Seat Pads

Any ideas for creating CHEAP seat cushions?

I have an outdoor patio set that I'm moving indoors and need to replace the seat pads on six chairs. The seat foam costs as much as buying replacement cushions from WalMart, not to mention fabric costs. Any ideas on cheaper products?

Just recover the ones you have. I got the material from Wal-Mart and did 4 cushions cheaper then the replacement cost of one and it is really easy.

The State of Virginia has adopted the dogwood flowering tree as its State tree, and many cities in America have named themselves 'The Dogwood City.' Atlanta, Georgia holds a spring festival every April to coincide with the flowering of the of the dogwood trees in Atlanta, Georgia. The Dogwood Festival has continued for 70 years, successfully attracting visitors for events such as outdoor musical extravaganzas in Piedmont Park and the attraction of many artists to display and sell to those visitors who wish to buy pottery, sculpture, oil paintings, and photographs.

Flowering dogwood trees, Cornus florida, were discovered in the South by William Bartram in 1773; these trees were beautifully described in his exploratory book, Travels (page 399). Near Mobile, Alabama. Bartram encountered a grove of dogwood trees that aggressively covered an area 9 miles long. The dogwood trees were growing so thick that sunlight was practically excluded, and almost all other plant life was excluded except for an occasional white flowering Magnolia grandiflora. The land on which the white flowering dogwood tree grew was level soil that was loose with a humid black organic mould on the surface with dogwood roots growing into a stiff yellowish clay. The limbs of the flowering dogwood trees were interlocking and spread horizontally at a tree height of 12 feet. The vast interlocking limbs of the dogwood trees covered the entire area as a shade tree that cooled the camping area used by William Bartram. After exploring for another seventy miles, Bartram wrote "spacious groves of this fine flowering tree, which must, in the spring season, when covered with blossoms, present a most pleasing scene; when at the same time a variety of other sweet shrubs display their beauty.

The white flowering dogwood is a native tree to the forests of America and has been exported worldwide as a seedling dogwood and as a grafted white dogwood also flowering in pink and red. The pink flowering dogwood is available to buy as a seed grown tree, but the most desirable, stable, predictable pink dogwood trees are nursery grafted trees. Red flowering dogwood trees are not available as seedling trees, but as grafted cultivars, such as the Cherokee Chief, red flowering dogwood tree.

The dogwood tree, Cornus florida, is very adaptable in America, ranging from Massachusetts to Florida, and the tree is generally grown as an understory tree 12-15 feet tall, although some old specimens of 40 feet tall are recorded. The flowering dogwood tree is perfect for planting and growing in a small garden or in large parks and as big landscape specimen trees. Dogwood has the unusual quality of growing well when planted beneath pine trees, where only a few other shrubs such as redbud trees, azalea plants, and camellia shrubs can compete successfully, because of the dense root pine tree competition near the surface of the ground.

The flowering of dogwood trees begins in early spring and the flowering lasts 2 to 3 weeks. Oval berries of bright red are formed following the blooms and persist on the trees into fall and winter after leaves are shed, and until they are eaten by wildlife and birds. In the fall the dogwood trees are covered in brilliant red leaves that change to purple. The fallen dogwood leaves are very fragile and usually easily deteriorate without raking. Flowering dogwood trees will grow well underneath oak tree shade as well as under pine trees, but the dogwood tree remarkably will grow well in full sun. Dogwood trees are well adapted to stress and are very tolerant of dry weather. Dogwood trees are tolerant of cold weather, and thrive in USDA zones 5 through 9.

Every landscape gardener appreciates the spring blooms of the white flowering dogwood trees as a background companion tree for flowering redbud trees or in a combination of flowering azalea shrubs in colors of red, pink, purple, or white.

Dogwood trees can be propagated by growing from the seed or by rooting the cutting, but the best dogwood cultivars are grown from grafted trees. The Cloud Nine, flowering, white dogwood tree produces very large (hand-size) blooms, especially in the juvenile stage. The Weaver's Select, white, flowering dogwood tree is grafted and can produce a flower 6 inches wide.

The dogwood tree has been rumored to have been the wood from which the crucifixion cross of Jesus Christ was made in the year 33 AD. This rumor is ridiculous in several respects: first, there is not Biblical record of dogwood trees in the Scriptures of the Old Testament Bible or the New Testament. Most plant references in the Bible are very vague except for a few references to the date palm tree, olive tree, pomegranate trees, fig tree, and grape vines. The identity of those plants and trees is obvious, because of their fruits that are produced, but accurate plant identity could not be done easily until Carl Linnaeus, a Swedish physician, suggested rules on naming plants in the early 1700's.

There are many species of dogwood trees and shrubs, but it is unlikely that any of the Mideastern species of dogwood trees grew trunks large enough to shape into a crucifixion cross. The wood of the dogwood tree is so hard and dense that nails driven into the wood would split the wood. That tree definitely could not have been the North American dogwood tree, Cornus florida, since that tree did not grow in Israel at the time of Jesus Christ.

Perhaps the reason for the rumor is that the dogwood tree was the wood of the crucifixion cross is the fact that the four white bracts (flower) are shaped like a cross. This resemblance of a white cross-shaped flower occurs in innumerable species of flowers of trees and, of course, should not be given any weight of evidence of the dogwood tree wood being the substance of crucifixions by the Jewish High Priest and the Roman rulers.

Eventhough I am from Europe I cannot help but loving the good old muscle cars! I started drawing a few muscle cars a couple of years ago and I love the challenge this drawings gives me! Getting a muscle car drawing right is not always very easy though.

One thing that I often have a hard time while drawing muscle cars is to get the proportions right. These classic car shapes are quite complicated to get right as you might have experienced from drawing them yourself.

After many screwed up muscle car sketches I am finally getting the hang of it. My advise is to just focus on the general lines of the shape. And then just try sketching them, and donÂ’t be afraid of redoing it until you are satisfied.

Doing Camaro drawings is always fun, they are quite challenging because of the shape, but the final result is usally worth the extra work put into them.

I also enjoy doing Mustang drawings, it is something about the older ones that really scream Â”drive meÂ”! To make a good Mustang sketches usually takes me around 5-10 hours to get them to the level Im happy with. While just to sketch the general shape of a mustang shouldnÂ’t take longer than 1-2 hours.

Another car I enjoy to draw is Firebirds, they look so aggressive and to get that rawness into the drawing is very challenging but fun!

My best advise on how to improve your car drawings is simply to spend more time on them. For example if you are not fully satisfied with the front lights, donÂ’t just continue with the drawing and hoping that the lights will get better by some magical touch! No, look at the lights and donÂ’t give up on them until you are fully satisfied with them, then move on to the next part of the car drawing.

If you love Muscle Cars you should get your favorite pencil and sit down with a clean sheet of paper and just relax and start sketching your favorite muscle car. DonÂ’t give up to quickly, just focus on the general shape of the outward lines of the car and you will soon see how the sketch is becoming better. Remember patience is the key to success when drawing a muscle car.

Food allergies in young children are common. A food allergy occurs when the body's immune system mistakenly believes a food is harmful. Any one person can be allergic to any type of food. The severity of the allergic reactions to these foods ranges from a mild skin rash to anaphylaxis. If you suspect that your child may be allergic to ANY food, please have them tested.

About four years ago we had our second daughter. She was a very healthy baby girl. Soon after returning from the hospital things began to change. She cried all the time. Now, all babies cry. They cry when they are hungry, when they need to be changed, when they are tired, and when something hurts. Addressing one or more of these issues can calm most. Our daughter was breastfed and often cried after feeding. After a month or so, we figured maybe she wasn't getting enough to satisfy her hunger. So, we switched to baby formula. Still, the crying did not stop.

After a few visits to the pediatrician she was diagnosed with reflux disease. We then realized she was crying because she was in pain. Sadly, her doctor said there was nothing we could do about it except adjust her formula from milk based formula to a soy formula. She figured maybe the reflux was due to a milk allergy. After 3 or 4 months we began to add solids to her diet. She seemed to get better, less screaming from the reflux and her appetite slowly increased.

We eventually took her off the formula as she began to eat more solids and switched her to soymilk. By the time she was one year old she was eating mostly solids. It was around this time when she developed eczema. Her skin turned very dark and she scratched all of the time. We put socks and gloves on her hands. We clothed her in long sleeved and long legged pajamas. Still, she scratched layer after layer of skin off daily. The pediatrician just gave us prescription strength hydrocortisone to ease the itching. We would take her back for follow up visits and she would prescribe more hydrocortisone.

We were really starting to worry because she did not look healthy. Her lymph nodes were always swollen, she scratched all the time, she was losing hair and it had stopped growing, and she woke up crying every night. She was an absolutely miserable baby. We felt helpless because it seemed like there was nothing we could do and the doctor couldn't figure it out either. I believe that the doctor simply thought that it was eczema and really did not feel it was necessary to test for anything else.

One evening, when she was about 18-19 months old she was having difficulty breathing. She did not look well and we could tell that she was having a hard time as she labored to breathe. We rushed her to the Emergency Room and the doctors gave her a nebulizer treatment to help her breathe. They told us that her oxygen count was low and that she more than likely suffered from asthma. For me, this was difficult to hear. It was yet another issue our "perfectly healthy" baby was having. The doctors said that it was common for eczema and asthma to go together. There was something seriously wrong with our child and we prayed for answers. We prayed for her to be healthy. It was difficult watching her suffer.

By the time she was two years old she was only 18 inches tall and weighed about 15 pounds. She had literally stopped growing. She was still suffering from eczema and she was still having trouble breathing. It was then that her pediatrician finally suggested that she should be tested for food allergies. The tests results were alarming. She was allergic to all eight of the common food allergens. Not only that, but because her allergies were so severe her body was rejecting almost all nutrients. Her body was not absorbing anything, which is why she stopped growing. She was very sick and it took the doctor over a year to help us figure it out. I believe that if we had not figured what was wrong with our daughter, she would not be here with us today.

The next question was what do we feed our child? The allergist suggested Neocate. We could not give her ANY foods. Even foods she was okay to eat. Neocate is a hypoallergenic powder based formula. It is mainly used as a substitute for baby formula but in some cases, it is prescribed to children who cannot eat any other foods. The dilemma was how do we afford it? Will our daughter drink it? How will she react when she sees her older sister and cousin eat food? How long does she have to drink it? How do we prevent others from feeding her? The list went on.

Well, we adjusted, our daughter adjusted and she is again, a healthy baby. She showed almost immediate improvements in her health. She is four now and she is happy and full of energy. She is quite rambunctious. She loves to climb, jump, flip, and run. It's amazing...miraculous. God answered our prayers.

I felt compelled to share our story because I believe that few doctors believe that what ails our children are food allergies even when most of the symptoms look them right in the face. Please be aware that food allergies, when not diagnosed can have a devastating impact on your child's quality of life.

Symptoms of Milk Allergy In Infants

is my baby allergic to milk?

My baby just turned 2 months..ever since he was about 4 weeks old he has what seems to be a nonstop cold that wont go away which consists of a congested sounding chest and nose,no sneezing,coughing fever etc though. when i give him saline spray an use a sucky nothing comes out but still sounds clogged. he doesnt have diarrhea,blood in stool or vomiting. when he eats his milk he moves around A LOT and crys and whines like something is hurting him or as if he is choking on the formula,every so often he will start coughing while eating also. even though he doesnt have all of the symptoms does it sound lie an allergy? if not what does it sound like? thanks

Try soy based forumla this may make his stomach feel better and if it does then you know that the milk is bothering him. Milk based fomurla bother my son and we put him on soy and it worked great, At 6 months he was good to go and he was fine with milk based.
Also could your child be allegic to something in the house. Like pets or dust.. I know lots of kids that have this problem.

The old phrase "dogs are people too" isn't exactly true. Regular seat covers are good for wear and tear caused by humans, but not designed for pet issues. Pet specific covers are great for doing the job and recently have started to cost the same as their human counterparts. The best thing to do if you have multiple cars to save a little bit of cash is decide which vehicle your pet will be riding in the most. Install the seat cover in that vehicle.

One of these add-on items is called a pet barrier. After all the other reason for a dog, car seat is for safety. However if you decide not to use an actual car seat then you should invest in a barrier to separate the front of the car from the rear of the vehicle.

If for example you have to slam on your brakes, you do not want your dog coming up front with you. For one reason, there is the chance that the dog could hurt himself. Next follow the instructions very carefully to fasten the cover down securely, this will prevent injury to you, your car and ensure the safety of the pet and the vehicle.

Once you have the cover in place fasten it down and you're ready to go. If you get lost along the way simply check out the diagram instruction given with most styles. If you have any questions or concerns revisit the store where you purchased the cover. Most times the staff has been trained to assist customers with proper installation. If you bought your cover online call the website producer or the manufacturer with any issues, they will usually be glad to help.

Most Dog Car Seat Covers sell for around $50 to $100 depending on the brand and the type of application you are installing. Another factor on price is the vehicle in question. Cruise rates, particularly for Alaska and the Caribbean, are a great value this year. Considering the fact that the cruise fare includes accommodations, meals, several on board activities and entertainment, if you plan ahead, you can have very little out of pocket expenses.

For those of you who have never been on a cruise, we now want to share more details on the different types of onboard activities that are available. Plenty of things to do on a cruise ship are free, like using the pool, library, game room, basketball courts, fitness center or catching live entertainment...you'll find everything from Reggae Bands by the pool, to Comedians, Magicians and Broadway style performances throughout your cruise. Children's programs are free, and the activities cater to several age groups. If you are interested, you can also dance the night away at various lounges, or the night club. Check your daily planner (or "compass" as it is called on many ships,) that is left in your cabin each day, so that you don't miss out on the activities.

Activities vary by ship and cruise line, but in general you can expect to see the following:

Complimentary onboard parties including a Captain's welcome reception, a sail away party, mix-and mingles, theme parties, toga night and more. On games that include prizes such as scavenger hunts, karaoke superstar, name that tune, trivia, talent and game shows. Throughout the cruise you can also choose to participate or watch various tournament including mini golf, basketball, shuffleboard, ping-ping and pool volleyball.

Some ships have come up with other unique forms of free entertainment. For example, several Princess Cruise Line ships offer Movies Under the Stars - a 300 sq. ft. screen around the pool. During the day, all sorts of videos and family movies are shown. At night, the chairs are covered with comfortable padding, blankets are provided and fresh popped popcorn...it's almost like being at a drive-in! Make sure and arrive early, as the seats do fill up. Newer Carnival ships also have an outdoor screen, and some it's and MSC ships have added it as well. The Celebrity Solstice, which launched in November, features the first "Hot Glass Show" at sea, where glassblowers from New York's Corning Museum of Glass give free glassblowing demonstrations. On the same deck right off of the Glass blowing area, the Solstice also has a deck with real grass called the "Lawn Club" where you can play bocce or croquet or putt golf balls for free. The Eclipse (2009) and Equinox (2010) will offering the same activities as the Solstice.

For "Foodies," Holland America has an excellent Culinary Arts Presentations Center. Each cruise features chefs and experts offering cooking demonstrations. On several cruises throughout the year, famous guest chefs will be onboard. Demonstrations are offered on seas days - usually twice during a 7 day cruise. After the demonstration, which lasts about 45 minutes to an hour, everyone in attendance gets to sample a few of the dishes that were prepared on stage. Many other cruise lines also offer cooking demonstrations, ice carving, napkins folding and more. Royal Caribbean offers free rock climbing on most of their ships. Newer ships also have free Ice skating shows, and on Freedom Class ships you can try out the Flow Rider, a surf simulator that attracts hundreds of eager surfers and golfers to the aft sports court each day. The sloped, wavelike surface of the FlowRider is perfect for beginning, intermediate and advanced surfers. And for those not brave enough to attempt the FlowRider, the surrounding stadium seating is great for surveying wipe-outs. The new Oasis of the Seas, the largest ship in the world, will offer a Boardwalk and Central park area with free activities for all ages.
